Had the opportunity to pray at the grave of Charlene Richard. My friend who is a convert to Catholicism is ill. On this special feast day of the archangels we decided to make a small pilgrimage After praying I offered her to go into the church since she'd never been before, and I could fill my little bottle with holy water. Unfortunately, like so many churches today it was locked. I told my friend that I'd like to check if the priest was home. Maybe he'd open it for us. As it was, he wasn't home but happened to be driving up. He immediately informed us he wasn't home and the church was locked. He told us to come back when the church was opened. I've never met a priest that was so unwelcoming. I was so very embarrassed that my convert friend had to witness this bad behavior. My apologies if we happened to catch you at an inopportune time. However, I do believe a little kindness can go a long way.

This church is awesome. When we come through Church Point to visit The Saint Charlene Richard Grave we always go in.St Edward Church is so beautiful and peaceful for meditation.
Very well kept up. We came @ 10:30 pm one night several years ago while staying in New Orleans (I am from Missouri). My parents (non - Catholics) had asked about Charlene Richard because of a program they'd seen on TV. Thankfully, I'd just read about her the previous evening in one of my books. Whew! God has PERFECT timing! So I wanted to visit Charlene's grave while in Louisiana and leave a note to have her pray for my parents. There was a meeting or something going on in the next building and thankfully a man in that group went into St. Edward's to get us some pamphlets and prayer cloths with Charlene's image on them. Then we proceeded to do as we came to do. At about 11 or 11:30, a man pulled up in his car and came to Charlene's grave. He told us that he comes every night in thanksgiving to Charlene for a miracle she had granted to him. Although Charlene passed so long ago, like the Little Flower, she is staying quite busy!
